Brace Yourself For 30C Heatwave!

THE first summer heatwave will hit this week as temperatures soar to 30C (86F).

A yellow heat health alert has been issued for most of England - with the South East, the East Midlands, the east of England and East Anglia expected to be hardest hit.

The warning from the Met Office and the UK Health Security Agency runs from this morning to Thursday afternoon, with the North East the only area not affected.

The UKHSA says the extreme conditions bring the potential for "significant impacts" on the health and social care sectors, with an "increase in risk of mortality amongst vulnerable individuals".

Pollen counts will be very high, worsening the difficulties for hayfever sufferers.
