Wildlife snapper Barry Forbes captured the stunning sunrise shot of the raptor from a hide in Aviemore, Scotland.
Barry, 59, from Fife, said: "The lighting conditions were poor, making it challenging to capture the action. Fortunately, I was able to shoot from a low angle, which resulted in some fantastic eye-level shots as the bird flew directly towards me.
"The eye contact and the water spray added a lot of power and drama."
