CANCER CLAIMS SIMPSON
His death in Las Vegas following treatment for prostate cancer was announced by his family on X, formerly Twitter.
They said he was "surrounded by his children and grandchildren" when he "succumbed to his battle with cancer" on Wednesday.
Born in San Francisco, Orenthal James Simpson switched from gridiron hero to Hollywood star, featuring in films such as The Towering Inferno and the Naked Gun series with Leslie Nielsen.
