Joseph Bullock was just 19 when he took part in the Normandy Landings in June 1944.
His family say he never really spoke about his experiences, but has proudly showed off his medals during remembrance events with fellow veterans.
Joseph, from Stourbridge, West Midlands, celebrated his 100th milestone a week ago with a birthday card from King Charles.
His family then joined him for a surprise party attended by friends from the Navy and the local bowls club at the Royal British Legion club in Kingswinford.
