HARVEY BARNES received advice on fatherhood from head coach Eddie Howe as he battled back from a broken foot that hampered his first season at Newcastle.
The winger has vowed to consign his injury-hit debut season on Tyneside to history, and says fans will now see his best form.
Barnes suffered the break last September as Newcastle beat Sheffield United 8-0. with medics giving conflicting advice on whether an operation was needed.
He also had a daughter with partner Naomi, moved house and tried to settle at the Toon after his £38 million move from Leicester.
Barnes said: "It obviously wasn't the start I was hoping for. The injury, then it took longer than I thought to get back, which is always frustrating.
"When you come into a new club you're always desperate to make a good impression.
