SCOTT MCTOMINAY helped Scotland scramble a point against Switzerland and set the stage for a blockbuster Group A finale.
McTominay and Xherdan Shaqiri traded goals in a draw at the RheinEnergieStadion to make Sunday's clash between Scotland and Hungary a straight battle for third place.
Steve Clarke's side were significantly better last night than they were in last Friday's Germany thrashing.
They could have kept all three points if McTominay's early goal had been the difference, but Shaqiri had other ideas.
And, in the end, Scotland can count themselves lucky to leave with a draw after two Switzerland goals were chalked off by VAR.
Scotland finally gave their travelling supporters something to sink their teeth into after the Tartan Army took over the streets of Cologne.
The moment they had been waiting for came when a devastating counter-attack carved Switzerland open.
Billy Gilmour's deft pass started it off, with Andrew Robertson driving half the length of the field and finding Callum McGregor, whose cutback was turned in first time by McTominay.
