Jessica Bootes is best mates with two-year-old Robyn Parker Briggs who has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome her skin tears at the slightest touch.

Playing with others her own age is too much of a risk for Jessica who was injured when cabbie Amir Azad drove into her family's car in Jarrow, South Tyneside, in March 2014.

Her right-hand side is paralysed, she is blind in one eye and brain damage left her with the mental age of a very young child but she can still form strong bonds with others.

After months of training to build up her stamina she is ready to tackle the three-quarters of a mile course on Saturday to raise £10,000 for Robyn.
