LABOUR has refused to set a "numerical target" for net migration amid warnings that it is unlikely to drop below 300,000 a year.

Cabinet minister Pat McFadden said a cap on numbers will not be part of the Government's plan for change due to be announced this week.

The Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster was asked by the BBC's Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg programme whether it would include a target on reducing net migration.
