Lawyers for Jac Davies argued yesterday that there should be "parity" with the suspended sentence given to ex-BBC newsreader Edwards, 63, in September.
Prosecutor Michelle Kruger told Leeds magistrates the investigation into Davies, 25, included a link between paedophile Alex Williams and Edwards.
