CHILDREN are at greater risk than ever of being radicalised, counterterrorism police have warned.
Youngsters aged 11 to 15 made up 40% of referrals to the Prevent deradicalisation plan last year.
And children as young as 12 have been arrested for terrorism offences, Home Office figures reveal.
Met Assistant Commissioner Matt Jukes, head of counter terrorism policing, warned of a "conveyor belt" leading kids towards extremism online.

He said: "Since 2020, Counter Terrorism Policing has been warning of the growing numbers of children being arrested in relation to terrorism offences. Last year we arrested more children than we ever have before, some as young as 12 years old." He spoke as the Five Eyes intelligence partnership issued its first public paper calling for a "whole society response" against a specific threat the radicalisation of children towards violent extremism.
