THE heir to a £230million pie empire murdered his housemate by stabbing him in a planned Christmas Eve attack, a jury was told.

Dylan Thomas, launched the fatal 24, knife assault on 23-year-old William Bush, who was found with fatal injuries near a car park next to Llandaff Cathedral, Cardiff, on December 24 last year, the court heard.

Computer programmer Thomas is the grandson of Sir Gilbert Stanley Thomas, the Welsh tycoon behind a business empire that included Peter's Pies.

He admits manslaughter but denies murder.
