Mountain rescue crews and sniffer dogs plus a helicopter and drones yesterday searched a mountainous area of northwest Tenerife for Jay, 19, in temperatures of 27C.
Debbie Duncan has flown to the Canary Island having not heard from her son since he left a rave there and went with two British men to their isolated Airbnb flat an hour away.
She fears Jay, from Oswaldtwistle, Lancs, was abducted although Spanish police have not said that kidnapping is a line of inquiry.
The last contact from Jay was at 8.50am on Monday when he messaged friend Lucy Mae Law to say he was 19 miles away in isolated village Masca and trying to make his way back.
School finance officer Debbie said: "If anyone does have him, just let him go, he's not a bad person. Maybe he's got in with some strangers."
