Law and order officials said they would continue to deploy thousands of extra police following rioting on Sunday night.
It came after a Left-wing coalition won the most seats in elections, beating Marine Le Pen's far-Right National Rally into third place.
The results dashed Ms Le Pen's hopes of forming the country's first hard-Right Government since the Second World War.
In second place was the Together alliance of President Emmanuel Macron, who has been widely blamed for ensuring a hung parliament. It means he has major problems trying to create a new government as senior including his Prime lieutenants Minister Gabriel Attal resigned.
