Safe as houses

A COUPLE who bought an abandoned bank for £31,000 have transformed it into their dream home complete with the original vault safe and secure doors.

Part of the building has been turned into a shop and the combined worth is now £250,000.

Property developer Ryan Green, 28, and his wife, Nicole, 27, a care assistant, bought the building in February 2022.

The renovation project started a month later and saw the pair turn the old NatWest bank into the store and a two-bedroom flat.

The couple worked on the conversion, which cost £60,000, for six months. Ryan admitted that it was challenging to bring the "empty shell" to life but now they are living in their ideal home.

Ryan, of Penmaenmawr, Conwy, North Wales, said: "I grew up in the village it was in.
