Surge in late sun deals to escape wet Britain

More than a quarter of us are tempted by a late deal to somewhere hot and sunny, it was said.

And one in five planned to book a break just to get away from the UK's dismal wet weather.

The survey comes after Met Office figures revealed the country had its wettest spring since 1986 and, despite the odd swelteringly hot day, the forecast into August remains poor.
