The latest contentious pick is Covid vaccine sceptic and former Democrat Robert F Kennedy Jr, who will become head of the Department of Health and Human Services.
Known as RFK Jr, he is the son of former US Attorney General Robert and nephew of ex-president John F Kennedy both of whom were assassinated.
He abandoned his own independent presidential campaign to back Trump.
He is now being rewarded with a powerful post overseeing a key sector in which he has controversial views.
RFK Jr, who raised doubts about Covid jabs and has been critical of the pharmaceutical industry, is now in charge of a department with more than 80,000 employees and a colossal $1.8trillion budget.
