The child, known as Adam, died on November 29 as he played in the street with other Palestinian children.

Another boy, 15-year-old Basil, was also killed by Israeli gunfire.

As part of its investigation into the conduct of Israel's security forces in the West Bank - which has been under military occupation for more than half a century - the BBC pieced together what happened that day.

Mobile phone and CCTV footage, information about the movements of Israel's military, witness testimony and investigation of the scene suggest serious human rights violations, says the broadcaster.
