MORE than a million attacks against women and girls were recorded last year, a report by police chiefs has revealed.
Two crimes are being reported every minute on average after the number of incidents rocketed by 37% in four years, it said.
Deputy Chief Constable Maggie Blyth said: "Violence against women and girls is a national emergency."
