A LANDSCAPE gardener and his workmate leave court with their faces covered yesterday after being accused of causing more than £620,000 worth of damage to the Sycamore Gap tree.

Groundworkers Daniel Graham, 38, and Adam Carruthers, 31, were charged with criminal damage to the famous tree and Hadrian's Wall.

It is believed to be one of the most valuable trees in UK legal history.
