It was the day in 2013 every British tennis fan will never forget... but Andy Murray remembers his historic title success not with joy but relief – victory over rival Novak Djokovic meant his career couldn’t be regarded as a failure

AMAZIN' ON A SUNNY AFTERNOON

ANDY MURRAY admits his biggest memory from winning his first Wimbledon title in 2013 is “just relief” – because he fears he would have been regarded as a “failure” without claiming his home Grand Slam.

It was an unforgettable sunny afternoon in SW19 a decade ago when Murray ended the 77-year wait for a British male singles champion.

After losing the 2012 final to Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic threatened to ruin the home script again as he saved three match points in an epic final game - and then had three break points to bring the third set back level.

The nerve-shredding finale summed up Murray's fraught career for all his fans.
