DAME Priti Patel has returned to frontline politics after new Tory leader Kemi Badenoch named her shadow cabinet.
Ms Badenoch won the run-off vote of party members on Saturday to take over from Rishi Sunak.
She handed plum jobs to some leadership rivals, appointing Ms Patel as Shadow Foreign Secretary and Mel Stride as Shadow Chancellor.
Ex-Immigration Secretary Robert Jenrick, who lost the final vote, was named as Shadow Justice Secretary.
