DAVID Beckham will be the face of a multi-million-pound drive to make World Cup host Qatar a top stopover.
The tiny desert kingdom even boasts a five-star resort, Banana Island, which bends like one of the former football icon’s famous free kicks.
The Mirror got a VIP tour of the choice spot for celebs, footballers and their partners to unwind at the Arab world’s first World Cup.
It offers £3,500-a-night rooms on stilts above the sea, golden beaches, sunset views and even a “Spice Spoons” cooking class ( just in case David’s wife, former Spice Girl Victoria, comes too). The rooms feature their own infinity pool and a villa host to cater for guests’ whims.
