UKRAINE launched its biggest-ever drone attack deep inside Russia overnight yesterday, sparking a major fireball and smashing Moscow's warplanes.
For four hours waves of drones hit an airport close to Estonia and Latvia, and a further five Russian regions were targeted by scores of unmanned planes.
In a major escalation, Kyiv's drone controllers hit four II-76 planes, designed to move large numbers of troops and war machinery, and sparked a major fire at the Pskov airport, 400 miles north of the Ukrainian border.
As Russia came under its fiercest attack on home territory since it launched its full-scale invasion on Ukraine 18 months ago, it launched its own strikes.
In Kyiv two security guards, aged 26 and 36, were killed and another person was injured by falling debris.
