Starmer says efforts to save steel jobs in Port Talbot 'turbocharged

PRIME Minister Keir Starmer yesterday vowed to do "everything we can" to save thousands of steel jobs.

Indian-owned giant Tata Steel has shut down one blast furnace and is due to close a second next month at its plant in Port Talbot, South Wales.

The move, which could lead to 2,800 job losses, forms part of the firm's transition to greener modes of production.
