Brianna mum: I knew something would happen

THE mum of murdered Brianna Ghey told her inquest she had feared something bad would happen to her daughter after seeing her become "immersed in darkness".

Esther Ghey issued a statement telling how she feels she is "grieving two different people" after watching her "funny, outgoing" child change after entering a toxic online world.

She said: "When Brianna was little, she was such an energetic ball of joy... In her teenage years she was immersed in darkness."

During high school, Brianna struggled with her mental health, restricting her food and at one point began "refusing to wash or brush her teeth for weeks", her mum revealed.
