ONE of the sporting world's greatest commentators who brought snooker to life on TV for more than 30 years has died at the age of 87.

Clive Everton was a mainstay of the BBC as the sport soared in popularity in the 1980s and his huge knowledge of and love for the game made him a household name throughout the land.
