RISHI Sunak's hopes of a flying start to his election campaign stalled before they even took off as he yesterday admitted no Rwanda planes will leave before July 4.
Fresh from his embarrassing soaking on Wednesday outside No10 when he announced the poll date in the rain with no brolly, the PM finally came clean about the expensive scheme to deport failed asylum seekers to Africa.
Beleaguered Mr Sunak also had to admit he has failed in his pledge to bring NHS waiting times down.
And leaked WhatsApp messages show furious Tory members criticising his decision to call a General Election with Labour 20 points ahead in the polls. One said simply: "We're f****d."
In a further embarrassment, it transpired a supposedly random question to the PM during a visit came from a Conservative councillor.
