He said: "Potentially a Guantanamo 2.0, where abuse, torture, and imprisonment may await them." The Guantanamo Bay facility, part of a US naval base in Cuba, was designed to detain "unlawful combatants" in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks as part of America's "war on terror".Al-Yazidi became a symbol of the camp's most controversial practices, including indefinite detention without charge. The Pentagon said 26 detainees remained at Guantanamo Bay, with 14 eligible for transfer.
