WOMEN hoping to enjoy a healthy old age need to get active by the age of 55, research shows.
Even when women did not start an exercise routine until their mid-50s, a study found a "significant link" with good physical health in later life.
Dr Binh Nguyen, of the University of Sydney, Australia, said: "Our study shows that it's important for women to be active throughout middle age to gain the most benefits for physical health in later life.
