AN old soldier who was upset with five grandkids for not visiting him more often was not coerced into leaving each of them just £50 of his fortune, a judge has ruled.
When Fred Ward died aged 91 he split almost all of his £500,000 estate between his two surviving children, Terry Ward and Susan Wiltshire.
His other child, Fred Jr, had already died. After getting a tiny bit of their grandad's cash, Fred Jr's five children issued, claiming they should get their late dad's 33% share of the money.
The five sisters - Carol Gowing, Angela St Marseille, Amanda Higginbotham, Christine Ward and Janet Pett - argued their Uncle Terry and Aunt Susan had unduly influenced Fred Snr into changing his will.
