HENGE ATTACK

TWO Just Stop Oil members yesterday sprayed Stonehenge orange, on the eve of the summer solstice celebrations at the site.

The environmental group used the publicity stunt to demand the incoming government scrap fossil fuel use in a bid to save the planet.

But its actions at the prehistoric monument in Wiltshire sparked widespread condemnation.

Two Just Stop Oil activists were filmed spraying several of the iconic stones which date from the late Neolithic period around 4,500 years ago. A person was heard shouting "no!", before rushing to intervene.
