IRAN could fire 1,000 missiles at Israel if its nuclear, energy or oil infrastructure is attacked, it was claimed last night.
The Middle East is braced for Israel's response to Iran's 200-strong missile volley on October 1, itself in revenge for the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah by Israel.
Israel has vowed to hit back before the November 5 US election - but the targets are being kept secret.
According to US reports citing sources within Tehran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has ordered preparations.
The sources say Iran may not launch a further tit-for-tat attack if Israel merely attacks its military bases and equipment stores.
