ISRAEL ROCKED BY DEMOS OVER PM'S HOSTAGE 'FAILINGS'

ISRAEL has been hit by mass protests and strikes, as families slammed Benjamin Netanyahu over failings to save hostages.

One angry parent said they are in a "living nightmare" and accused their PM of losing his "moral compass".

It came as the UK slapped a partial ban on weapons sales to Israel.

More than half a million protested against Mr Netanyahu on Sunday, with more gathering in Tel Aviv last night. A general strike over the failure to return hostages led to major disruption yesterday.

Transport, businesses, government offices and schools were affected It follows the discovery of six hostages' bodies in a Gaza tunnel on Saturday.

Jonathan Dekel-Chen, dad of Sagui, who is still being held captive, said if Mr Netanyahu "ever had a moral compass, he lost it long ago".

He added the six should not have been allowed to die.
