ISRAEL SNUBS U.S PEACE BID

ISRAELI Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has snubbed a US proposal for peace in Gaza.

US President Joe Biden outlined a three-phase peace plan last month, with phase one including a six-week ceasefire and the release of the Palestinian prisoners Israel holds.

Phase two was Hamas releasing all remaining hostages and Israel completing its withdrawal. Phase three was Gaza's reconstruction.

Mr Netanyahu was thought to back it but he has now said he is prepared to make a partial deal only, hinting he would agree to a short ceasefire in return for some but not all hostages.
