NRL star Jordan Rapana admits new Hull FC boss John Cartwright is the main reason he has joined the club.

The veteran Canberra winger, 35, yesterday confirmed he will be moving to Super League to round off a fine career.

Leeds were interested in the prolific ex-New Zealand international, who has 106 tries in 204 games for the Raiders.

But Rapana, who can also play centre or full-back, says Aussie Cartwright, the Brisbane assistant and former Kangaroos second-row who takes charge at Hull for 2025, proved crucial in his decision.

"I'm really excited to get over there with the fans and I'm looking forward to coming over to start winning some games," said Rapana.
