THE large tube of metal plunges deep into a patient's neck, close to vital nerves and arteries, as the liposuction fat removal begins.

A trainee then takes over the delicate cosmetic surgery procedure.

But this is no medical student with a senior doctor overseeing them.

The person now in control has had just 30 minutes of theory training by a female "aesthetic practitioner" who says they have only damaged a few nerves and severed one artery. Beauty firms are offering potentially deadly cosmetic surgery by people who have had only hours of practical training, an ITVX documentary has revealed. They include liquid Brazilian butt lifts and liposuction.

Now, Health Secretary Wes Streeting warned the dodgy procedures are putting patients in danger and vowed to crack down on them.
