TORY peer Michelle Mone's husband yesterday accused government officials of lying and whined the couple are being treated like a "punchbag".
Doug Barrowman, whose PPE Medpro company is at the heart of a National Crime Agency investigation, claimed Baroness Mone and her children are "not entitled" to cash from lucrative government contracts.
Baroness Mone is being investigated over allegations of conspiracy to defraud, fraud by false representation and bribery over her role helping the firm secure £ 200 million worth of deals during the Covid crisis. She vehemently denies any wrongdoing.
The Department of Health and Social Care is also suing PPE Medpro, saying gowns it paid the company £122million for could not be used.
In a two-page letter published online yesterday, Mr Barrowman moaned that the Government is targeting the couple In a bid to hide its own "incompetence".
