THE Shadow Chancellor has warned that if Labour wins the next election it will inherit the worst economic challenge since the Second World War.

Rachel Reeves said: "The Tories have smashed the windows, broken the door down and are burning the whole house down." Her withering attack is a reference to Tory axeman George Osborne who talked while he was the Chancellor between 2010 and 2016 of "fixing the roof while the sun is shining" - an excuse for making huge cuts.
