THE programme that landed the bombshell Prince Andrew interview is being diminished by BBC cuts, its former producer claims.
Ex-Newsnight journalist Sam McAlister is played by Billie Piper in the upcoming Netflix drama Scoop, which she calls a "homage to BBC journalism".
But last November it was announced that the BBC2 flagship show will have its format revamped to save money, with its staff cut from 57 to 23, and fewer investigative films in favour of cheaper, studio-based broadcasts.
The programme will also be 10 minutes shorter.
