FOUR British rowers risk encounters with crocodiles, gun-toting pirates and deadly snakes in a 5,000km charity race along the Amazon.

Darren Clawson, 47, and his team could even face drug cartels, flesh-eating piranhas the South American river.

They are aiming to break three world records and raise £50,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital, which saved the life of Darren's son Hadley in 2007.
