JAMIE SMITH aims to use the forthcoming white-ball clashes with Australia to help him warm-up for potential Ashes battles.
The Surrey star is relishing the chance to get stuck into the tourists and show them what they can expect from him in 14 months' time.
Having proven a real Test diamond this summer with his sparkling feats with bat and gloves, Smith is in the white-ball squad for the five ODIS starting at Trent Bridge in eight days.
It will be his first time to face the Aussies even though he spent a year playing grade cricket Down Under for Eastern Suburbs CC.
