POLICE chiefs are braced to stop dozens of far-right riots this weekend, fuelled by lies about the Southport killings.
Violent protests are feared in up to 25 towns and cities, with many targeting mosques.
Last night Chief Constable Gavin Stephens, chair of the National Police Chiefs Council, said: "Police will not stand by and let criminals carry out unnecessary violence in our communities. I'd like the public to know there is a robust and united response in place across the country, and police chiefs have agreed to step up resourcing this weekend."
Rioters hijacked a vigil in Southport on Tuesday for the three girls stabbed to death at a dance class on Monday.
After lies online about the alleged attacker, thugs targeted a mosque and police.
Clashes spread to London, Manchester and Hartlepool on Wednesday.
