DAVID RAYA has told Arsenal fans to get used to "scary" football because he is under orders from Mikel Arteta.
Gunners supporters have been getting increasingly nervous about goalkeeper Raya playing out from the back.
Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez nearly deflected the ball into the net when he closed down Raya when they met at the Emirates earlier this month.
But the Spaniard insists it is Arteta who has told him to keep the ball longer to invite opponents on to him.
"It's something I've internalised, but it's also the coach's orders, he told The Athletic.
"What he doesn't want is for us to start hitting balls we have to invite a player to come out a little bit.
"I'm the free man, and once a striker or someone jumps me, that leaves a free man on the pitch, and we have to look for superiority.
That's the way the coach tells me to play.
