But instead of lying low, the disgraced Duke of York was seen riding a horse from the royal stables.
He was laughing with a female companion as he went for a canter in the grounds of Windsor Castle.
It was hours after the Netflix drama Scoop aired around the world for the first time, bringing the Prince yet more humiliation.
An insider said: "The Duke would do well to keep his head down on most days, but this latest outing seems particularly ill-timed.
