THE family of a mum of two who died while taking weight-loss pills say the medication killed her.
Sarah Thompson, 34, had suffered from throat cancer in 2018. Left breathing through a tube in her neck, she found it hard to exercise which led to her gaining weight.
Her family say she did not meet the NHS criteria for weight-loss injections, so she looked for another solution this summer. It is not known where she got the pills, but they are available online.
Sarah slimmed from 15st 7lb to 11st in just one month.
Sister Gabriella told ITV News: "She had a lot more confidence, she felt she could take on the world."
Sarah gave some of the pills to her sister, who tried some. But she said: "When I took them my whole body was shaking and heart was going.
"She said, 'Gabby, just ride through it, because in the end you'll be thankful for it"." But Gabriella decided to stop taking the pills.
Then, in September, Sarah called Gabriella saying she was violently ill.
