AN American driver who fled the UK after crashing into a nurse has been jailed.
Isac Calderon, 23, hit Elizabeth Donowho's car head-on, badly injuring her.
She claimed police told her he worked for US intelligence and had been visiting SAS HQ.
But yesterday his lawyers said he was an interpreter with a US firm and had been on his way to meet a gaming friend.
A number of witnesses saw him overtaking several vehicles at high speed before the crash.
Elizabeth, 56, from Malvern, Worcs, broke both ankles and her sternum in the crash.
