Sol's cancer fight was hard but we still found joy and laughter

FORMER Premier League star Sol Bamba has been hailed for his strength and courage after he died aged 39 following a cancer fight.

The popular former Cardiff City, Leeds, Leicester and Ivory Coast defender was diagnosed with non Hodgkin lymphoma in 2021.

He fought off the disease and returned to playing that same year but fell ill again and died on Saturday.

Wife Chloe said: "I have watched Sol fight his cancer head-on with an astounding mental and physical strength and stoicism.
