Sport can help us break the cycle on climate change'

OLYMPIC cycling champion Chris Boardman has told how sport must play a key role in the fight against climate change.

The 56-year-old warned the crisis is having an "insidious" impact on sporting events and called for action.

Chris will today tell the UN climate summit in Baku, Azerbaijan, how cycling can help decarbonise.

He is to talk about his eight days cycling 550 miles from Manchester to Paris in the summer collecting pledges from sports groups to cut energy and water use, promote sustainable travel, axe single-use plastics and support conservation.
