STALKER LED TO FERN'S ANXIETY

TV host Fern Britton feared for her safety due to an obsessed stalker who has now received a 10-year restraining order, a court heard.

The former This Morning presenter was bombarded with unwanted cards and flowers by James Haviland, 63.

He drove 200 miles to stay in her village near Padstow, Cornwall, four times. In September he rented 66-year-old Fern's holiday cottage for a week.

When he tried to book it again in November he was reported to police.

Yesterday Haviland admitted stalking the presenter without causing fear, alarm or distress, from November 20, 2021 to September 16, 2023.
