A WATCHDOG is investigating if Ticketmaster broke the law over Oasis concert ticket sales.Fans waited for hours online only to discover that £148 tickets for next year's reunion gigs had more than doubled to £355 due to dynamic pricing, which is linked to demand.The Competition and Markets Authority will examine if the vendor gave fans "clear and timely information", and if it rushed them into buying tickets for more "than they understood they'd have to pay".The CMA will also investigate if Ticketmaster broke consumer laws by engaging in "unfair commercial practices". The CMA cannot fine companies in breach but can seek redress for anyone who lost out.The band, fronted by brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, have said: "Oasis leave decisions on ticketing and pricing to their promoters and management, and at no time had any awareness dynamic pricing was going to be used." A Ticketmaster spokesman said: "We are committed to co-operating with the CMA and look forward to sharing more facts about the ticket sale with them." And industry umbrella group UK Music hopes the review "will give greater insight into the functioning of the ticketing market". The 17 gigs will be Oasis's first since they split in 2009.
